If you are traveling by car, make sure your dog is safe and comfortable. Use a carrier appropriate for its size or a special seat belt for pets. Never leave your dog loose in the car while driving. If you are traveling by plane, find out about the airline's specific procedures and be sure to follow the rules and requirements for transporting animals.

For long trips, make sure you have a dog diaper on hand in case your dog urgently needs it.

For trips by car, do not hesitate to take a washable mattress pad to put on the seats of the car to ensure cleanliness.
